Super tight slots, not enough staff. Saturday night is advertised as Pull tab Saturday yet they had one person working the pull tab counter with a consistent line of 15+ people. When trying to visit the rewards counter there were 5 computers with 2 staffed. I remember why I haven't been here in 7 years, I guess nothing changes...
Grand Casino Hinckley has always been a favorite destination of mine. I was impressed by the new construction done to the
buffet. Was sad to see that cherries is gone but happy to see the expansion done. Glad Silver Sevens is still there, really like the wraparound on the bar. I withheld 2 Stars because in the past you were able to go to Grand Casino Hinckley and play / lose 40 bucks within a couple hours. That was fine with me, I was willing to go in and spend $40 for a good couple hours of fun. It seems however, that they have made some changes. The penny machines are more like dollar machines now. Minimum bet 200 credits... Basically 20 bucks lasts 5 minutes if your lucky... Not cool Grand Casino. Just because people are addicted to gambling doesn't mean you have to get greedy and make the experience more like bankruptcy. Won't be returning. I'd much rather give my money to a smaller Casino where I actually have a chance to win, and regardless of the win or loss still have a good time.
The Winds Restaurant
We really liked the food. It is more than the typical food court in a non-vegas casino but still has a smell of smokers and old people. If you are driving through the area I would recommend grabbing a bite to eat here but understand that is still a casino. Otherwise it's a clean place with friendly staff.
They seem to be trying to constantly improve things here. The buffet is gone now and replaced by a few great places to grab something to eat. The hotel rooms are always nice and clean. Great place to loose your money!
Did not think much of tonight's meal. The glace had little flavor and portion small. The Cranberry pudding was very good as well as the wines. We will return to Winds as you can get good meals. Do not think much of the new slots. Most way to high on start. Enjoy slots when not forced to put in more than I think right. Did finally find some in our price range. Had fun winning and losing.
